Like many other on here, after many years we have cancelled our membership of the National Trust. We are fed up with the 'woke agenda' and the constant 'sermonising' we are now subjected to when visiting N.T. properties. We should be celebrating the good things about our past not made to feel guilty every time we visit. Enough is enough! Until the Trust change direction we won't be re-joining along with quite a few others I suspect!

All I wanted to do today is take my Mother out for a coffee and cake at our local National Trust (Hardwick Hall) only to be told that we cant do that anymore. We have to pay a full access fee for all options of house garden and cafe. This meant although I had access as a member my Mum had to pay £10 to enter the cafe.. . what a rip off.. I'm a member I pay £10 per month or should I say did as this will now be cancelled.. You should be ashamed .....

I used to love the National Trust. My Parents were life members. Amazing historical assets built up over years. Fantastic gardens. A network of volunteers who swear by the enjoyment they get for helping NT.But now it's been taken over by wokeness. A management who subscribes to a very narrow view of what's important in the National Trust. A fundamental Political view - 'We need to change your way of thinking'. 'You should be asked to feel guilty about these things we've identified in the past'.Well most of us know bad things happened in the past. We don't this narrow view rammend down our throat constantly by strident self righteous young graduates.I wrote to the DG and got a brush-off letter from a member of her team about my concerns. How did this happen? How can a political group take over the management of such a vital national institution? If someone sets up a lobby to remove the current management I'll join it.And in the meantime how many organisations refuse to give a refund for 10 months remaining membership when you want to leave? Not good faith.

There should be an alternative ZERO star box for PATHETIC so people like me can register our displeasure with NT. The ONE star minimum grossly overestimates the public feeling, Ms McGrady and Ms Fowler are just losing the plot and promoting their own standpoints - they should be neutral. How has this great institution fallen to Wokeness? I am out and will not be back until common sense prevails. Any hope for the AGM?

I worked for the National Trust .I was made redundant along with my colleagues and over a thousand other staff .They were a fabulous company to work for and shall miss it dearly along with my colleagues. But I feel letdown with the whole company of the trust , they could of furloughed us all longer but choose not to for any of those let go .Just feel they could of done more for those made redundant offer of furlough would of helped all of us .But chose only to make use of furlough if you not made redundant!I shall not now or in the future join the National Trust as members because if they can pay all those big wages out to themselves above but cannot help the very people that helped them get to be this big then they don't deserve my money to make those higher richer when they could of helped those lower than themselves barely over minimum wage and had our wage increase taken off us at the beginning of covid 19. If you cannot treat your loyal staff right I don't think they deserve my support or my family and friends either .

Wonderful walk at Polsden Lacey. Although a bit annoying you have to pre book it does mean that it’s well managed and enjoyable as you can walk around socially distanced without any fears. The toliet facilities are open and a take away cafe. Would totally recommend as it was wonderful to get out in fresh air and blow away the cobwebs.

Made a mistake and bought entry tickets for wrong day. Realized after 20 seconds, but can't get a refund or change date. Not customer friendly. Will not renew membership.

Disgusted at the National Trust's recent shift to the 'woke' agenda. You are a charity that receives money to caretake our heritage, NOT impose your political views on intelligent, paying members of the public, who are capable of free thought. You might want to look into the TRUE agenda behind the Marxist BLM movement, before thinking it's a good idea to throw your political cap into the arena. Get back to doing what you're paid to do, which is to look after our heritage, NOT slag it off and hold it up to ridicule. We are also disgusted by your recent begging mission on tv - maybe if your lefty CEO was to slash his £190k per year wages, you might have more money to spend on looking after the properties. We have cancelled our family membership, and will not be visiting any NT properties again until you ditch the virtue signalling, and get rid of the stupid restrictions you currently have everywhere.

Impossible for my elderly parents to cancel their membership. They are now too disabled to travel to NT sites. They can't get through on phone line and they won't accept email from me, but are happy to take the annual direct debit regardless.Seems like a very immoral way to treat members.

MY WIFE AND MYSELF ONLY JOINED A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO ,ALTHOUGH WE HAVE VISITED MANY NATIONAL TRUST SITES ALONG THE WAY .I WAS TAKEN ABACK WITH SOME OF THE VIEWS I HAVE READ.I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF WHEN I SAY I HAVE ONLY GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THE ORGANISATION ,IF YOU ASK THOSE WORKING AT THE HOUSES/GARDENS ,THEY ARE ONLY TOO HAPPY TO INFORM YOU ,BE IT GOOD OR BAD (PAST HISTORY )SO I WILL CONTINUE WITH OUR MEMBERSHIP FOR THE TIME BEING .THAT WAY I CAN CONTINUE TO HAVE MY/OUR OPINIONS ,SO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CANCELLED THIER MEMBERSHIPS ,YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POINT ,SO LET THE MEMBERS HAVE THIERS

Cancelled mine too – would echo most of the reviews here. If I’m supporting a charity I’m not expecting it to be paying very generous salaries or commissioning dubious reports with a political agenda that I don’t support. I have no difficulty in clearly offensive articles being removed from prominence, or other perspectives being added to the narrative, but it’s gone too far in my opinion.

Cancelled my long-standing membership. They have insulted some of my heroes.
